    Where to Stay in Orford; From Hotels to B&Bs, Self Catering to Camping

    Making a special trip to Orford to visit the bakery or the Pump Street Workshop? If you’re planning to stay overnight in Suffolk, you have the choice of a fantastic range of accommodations, from cozy rooms to charming rentals rentals and more luxurious hotels.

    We've listed them below with distance to Pump Street Bakery in the village square and to Pump Street Workshop in Gedgrave; there is ample parking at the Workshop so please don't hesitate to make the short drive. 

    Hotel

    Located right near Orford Castle, the Crown and Castle was recently added to the Michelin Hotel Guide. It is an award-winning hotel that is also a 2 AA Rosette Restaurant and AA 5 Star Restaurant with Rooms. A perfect hideaway for gourmands, there are a selection of rooms to choose from including those in the main hotel, some with views of Orford Quay, as well as garden rooms, which come with a semi-private terrace. Rooms here start around £125 per night, depending on the season.

    Bed and Breakfast

    For a stay unique to Orford, stay with Mike and Polly at The Wash House Studio. It is a stylishly converted Victorian Coastguards’ Wash House with a double bed, ensuite and glazed lobby area. There are French doors leading out on to your own pretty outside space. You also have use of the nearby Shepherd’s Hut. Stays are for a minimum of two nights and no pets are allowed.

    For a more casual stay, consider The Jolly Sailor or The King’s Head. Both pubs offer a friendly local vibe, and are in the centre of the village, providing easy access for the bakery.
