The Crown and Castle Hotel
Located right near Orford Castle, the Crown and Castle was recently added to the Michelin Hotel Guide. It is an award-winning hotel that is also a 2 AA Rosette Restaurant and AA 5 Star Restaurant with Rooms. A perfect hideaway for gourmands, there are a selection of rooms to choose from including those in the main hotel, some with views of Orford Quay, as well as garden rooms, which come with a semi-private terrace. Rooms here start around £125 per night, depending on the season.

There are French doors leading out onto your own pretty outside space. You also have use of the nearby Shepherd’s Hut. Stays are for a minimum of two nights and no pets are allowed.

For a more casual stay, consider The Jolly Sailor or The King’s Head. Both pubs offer a friendly local vibe, and are in the centre of the village. Prices here can vary, but you’ll generally find rooms starting around £100-£150 per night and don’t tend to have minimum stays so you can book for just one night.
The Jolly Sailor
Just steps from the quayside, The Jolly Sailor has 5 ensuite rooms, each with a character that feels connected to the 400 years of history in the building. In the winter, you’ll find a welcoming log fire downstairs in the pub area, and in warmer months, the beer garden offers a lovely spot to sit and enjoy views over the marshes.
The King’s Head
The King’s Head Inn is right in the centre of Orford, with simple, traditional rooms. There are three rooms in total, each with an ensuite bathroom. One room has twin beds, while the other two are doubles. The building’s old, so expect sloping floors, low beams, and plenty of character.
Distance to Bakery: 50m (200m from Jolly Sailor)
Distance to Workshop: 850m (20 mins walk, 4 min drive)
For more information or to book, contact The King's Head or The Jolly Sailor.
