A Collaboration With The Merchant's Table

A collaboration of chocolate and homewares

As longtime collaborators, Joanna Brennan of Pump Street and Susanna Cook of The Merchants Table share many traits – amongst them a deep appreciation for beauty and design, traditional craft methods of making, and creating delicious moments for friends, family - and ourselves.

We have brought together the considered, handmade homewares of The Merchant’s Table with our craft chocolate – all made locally using traditional methods – to celebrate craftsmanship, quality and the enjoyment they can bring.

“Designing the branding and packaging for Pump Street Chocolate for over a decade, I have had the privilege of witnessing the incredible integrity Joanna Brennan brings to her craft. The Merchant’s Table was born from that same deep appreciation for British craftsmanship, making this perennial collaboration feel entirely natural. There is a symmetry between the meticulous, small-batch process of bean-to-bar chocolate making and the tactile, handmade quality of our homewares. This partnership is rooted in a mutual respect for the time it takes to make things well, and a shared gratitude for the loyal community that has supported both of our journeys."

    The Contemplative Present

One of the most undervalued effects of enjoying things made with purpose is that they slow us down. Lighting a beeswax candle and watching the flame, smelling the warm rich melt. Thoughtfully eating chocolate, considering the flavour as it is released. Time to think about the simplest of things, or everything.

    The Secret Stash Present

Storing food is something that we used to do by necessity, to store calories and nutrients from bountiful periods through the tougher months. The satisfaction of having a stash saved for emergencies is still with us, and chocolate is one of the best foods for storage – it needs only a cool dark space.

"After more than ten years of working with Susanna, we now have a beautiful friendship, and I have a trusted advisor and the confidence in what we do at Pump Street to take our commitment to craft to the next level. It was natural to work with Susanna to pair our chocolate with beautiful, useful objects from makers equally committed to their mediums, from The Merchant's Table. The result is a collection of beautiful, unique presents that exude the warmth and generosity with which they were created."

A handwritten card is an irreplaceable way to show you care; the time and thought that goes into creating the perfect prose, and choosing a beautiful card, speaks almost as much as the words themselves.
